About Word Puzzle Kit
A set of word tools that run in your browser, built on public-domain word data.
What this is
Word Puzzle Kit is 25 word tools, 4 games and 394 reference word lists, all free and none of them requiring an account. It started in 2026.
The tools split into three jobs. Solvers turn letters into words — a rack into playable options, a jumble into an answer, a crossword pattern into candidates. Makers turn a word list into a printable worksheet. Text tools count and sort things.
Everything runs in your browser
This is the design decision the rest follows from. The whole 172,749-word dictionary is downloaded to your device and every search runs locally against it. Nothing you type is transmitted, and there is no server holding a log of what people searched for.
Three consequences, and they are all real:
- Privacy is structural, not a promise. There is no collected data to leak, sell or subpoena, because the searches never leave your machine. You can verify this in your browser's network panel.
- It works offline. Once the word data is cached, the solvers and games keep working with no connection.
- Nothing is saved. Close the tab and your word list is gone. That is the cost of having no account, and it is why the generators show a seed you can note down.
Where the words come from
The solver dictionary is ENABLE, a public-domain English lexicon. Crossword clues are definitions from Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary of 1913, also public domain. Neither is any game's official word list — those are licensed, and we do not use them. The sources page sets out exactly what each dataset is, what it excludes, and what that means for you.
What this site will not do
- Republish other people's puzzles or answers. The daily puzzles people search for belong to their publishers. Where we have hints pages, they carry hints an editor wrote, and days nobody wrote up stay empty rather than being filled with scraped solutions.
- Claim a word is legal in a specific game. We search a public-domain lexicon; every commercial game licenses its own. The overlap is very large and not total, and the pages say so.
- Ask who you are. No account, no login, no newsletter gate.
How it is funded
Advertising. That is the whole model — no subscription, no premium tier, no feature held back. Ads are why the tools can stay open to everyone with no cap on use.
Corrections
If a tool gives a wrong answer, a page states something inaccurate, or a word list has a gap, we would rather know. Write to [email protected] with enough detail to reproduce it — the exact input matters more than anything else.
